What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally I need the event date, a brief explanation of the type of event they are hosting, the estimated number of guests, the age range of guests, potential venue and type of music required. From this, I can use my experience and expertise to put together a suitable equipment list and design.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Firstly, ask the provider about their experience on similar events. Find out about their sound equipment and if it's enough for the number of guests that you are expecting. There is nothing worse than having an underpowered system at your party. Pay attention to the lights and effects offered as many mobile DJ's try to have a very simplistic set up with only 2 low quality lights.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I fell in love with music since my mother owned a bar when I was 13. I played my first set there when I was 15 and since then I haven't stopped mixing. During my years at university, I used to DJ for student events a couple of times a week. Since I finished university, I've been DJ'ing full time for private events, clubs and bars.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

Add to Event is very easy to use and very useful for bringing in leads to the business. Best booking that I had through here, has to be an NYE party. It was challenging at first as the space was very small but with my expertise, I managed to turn it into a mini club with a smoke machine, UV lights, Lasers and more. Everyone had an amazing time and danced until the early hours of the morning. I always recommend Add to Event when I get requests that I can't fulfil, as I think that it's the easiest way to get booked or to find a supplier.
