What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order for us to provide the most accurate quotes for a potential client, we would need the event time and date, a proposed location, the estimated number of guests and what type of event they are hosting. Based on this information, we can select a package that is most suitable and cost-efficient for their event.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The first piece of advice is to always look for at least 3 quotes before deciding on what you want. You will get a feel for the price and how professional their service is.

Secondly, ask if they are insured against public liability and if their equipment is PAT tested. This will help you sieve through which providers are professional and those who are in it to make a quick quid! It also reassures venues that you have considered your provider carefully.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Platform DJs was formed out of love for music and entertainment. I started it after attending many entertainment venues and not being completely satisfied with the range of music on offer and the quality of the sound. I felt it was my creative duty to offer something greater!
