What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
Ideally, we need a few things to be able to quote for an event. Firstly we need to know where and when the event is taking place - date and location are important. Secondly, the number of guests, whether the event is indoors or if outdoors are we covered by a gazebo or marquee if not we reserve the right to decline the quote. If the event is within our working budget and location then we can quote, if not we are unable to make a quote or we simply decline it due to inadequate budget.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The biggest advice I can give anyone booking a DJ for their event is to do their research on them. Have they got any good reviews, how does their website look, does the company look professional and presentable in their photos etc. You don't want to be booking an amateur when it comes to your big wedding day or milestone birthday - you want to have an incredible time and remember the evening with loads of good memories of people enjoying themselves etc.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Celebrate Events started from a passion and expertise in DJing and event planning. Being in the industry many years has personally given me the insight to plan events that create long-lasting memories for clients. I've seen and worked for companies over the years that have done things wrong and have been so un-organised I decided to create my own company and get my own clients. Un-like those companies I am organised and have the clients best interests at heart at all times.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
So I've only been on the platform for around a year but it's been very good for us. We've done maybe 6 events throughout the year and booked more for next. Okay, not every client on the platform is for you however we quote for all sorts of events and have been rather successful on here. One of the best events we were involved with was the Engagement party for Chris and Charlotte we did in Portsmouth on the 2nd November. The party was fantastic with people up dancing from early on until the end, we really enjoyed being apart of that event.
