What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
In order to provide a comprehensive quote, I require the location of the event, date and the amount of time we are required. I also need to know how many people are expected at the event, and what the event is in aid of, i.e. a birthday, wedding, school visit etc. I can then look at providing a comprehensive quote.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If you are looking to hire an animal company, please ensure they have public liability insurance, a performing animals license and a transporter license. If they don't possess these, do not use them, regardless of cost. Ask them what animals they have - if there are any unusual creatures, ensure they are experience and have suitable accommodation. Check out their website! Any reputable company will have a website for you to view what they have on offer. I always tell people to ask questions. If they know their business, they will have the answers.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Children spend far too much time on computers, tablets and mobile phones. They don't go out into the back garden exploring like children did years ago. I want children to see that the animals viewed on TV are real animals! I want to open children's minds to the amazing world around them, and teach them how to care for all of the animals. I rescue so many poorly animals on a weekly basis, so it's important to educate the next generation to prevent this in the future.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I am quite a unique company, so have received limited enquiries to date. The ones I have had and have turned into bookings, have been great fun. The families have been very welcoming and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The children have walked away learning new facts and have handled animals they have only ever seen on TV. The parents also enjoyed joining in with the experience!
