The Copper Top Bar is a mobile bar - originally an old Rice horse trailer, now restored and is based in Brighton and available to hire across the country! What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order for us to provide as comprehensive a quote as possible we need to know the date of the event, the potential venue/location, what the event is for (party, wedding, community event etc), the expected number of guests and the approximate times you would like the bar from and to. As there are a number of bar hire options we will also need to know what kind of hire you are looking for:
- a cash bar where your guests pay for their own drinks
- pre-paid where you pre-pay for a number of drinks per person and after that guests pay for their own drinks
- open bar where you pay for all of the drinks; or
- dry hire where we provide the bar and the staff and you buy in all of the alcohol/mixers/ice/garnishes etc for us to serve
It's also useful for us to know the kind of drinks you would like. This can be beers, wine, spirits and mixers, prosecco/champagne, cocktails, mocktails and soft drinks.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Always ask what is included in the hire price. Nobody wants to be stung by hidden costs, however, it is always your job to be thorough and to find out as much information as possible. We try to be completely transparent with our prices, however sometimes people make assumptions about things without checking, so this is something which we always try to avoid!
For example, our standard hire is for drinks served from recyclable cups/glasses. The hire of glassware is extra and depends on the availability of dishwashing facilities (a venue which is a powerless field is much harder to wash up wine glasses and champagne flutes in!).

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

The two of us have always loved festivals and events and working behind a bar is always super fun! We loved the idea of starting up our own business and a mobile bar seemed like the perfect fit. Combined we have over 10 years experience in cocktail bars and restaurants across the UK, France and Switzerland as well as hospitality and operations management. We're both really sociable people and love to make people smile so we're determined to provide a friendly and personable service to all of our customers.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We've only recently joined this platform but heard rave reviews from other friends who own events businesses so we thought we'd give it a go. It's been fantastic so far and we've had four bookings through the site in the last 3 weeks alone! All of our clients have been super friendly and enthusiastic and have already given us fantastic feedback about our help in the organising process, which is always great to hear!
