Galley Slaves is a mobile food van caterer that is based in Rougham in Suffolk. They create a bespoke service for weddings, parties, corporate, shows and event catering. They provide fish and chips, ice cream, canapés and more.
What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
Really simple, where, when, how many and what type of food you require. Your preferred budget can help me tailor a quote for you as well.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Check the caterer can actually cook the quantity you need in the timescale you need it. Large quantities of meals served all together need specialist equipment, it’s really important if it’s a special occasion like a wedding. Check they are able to still carry on if someone is off sick or have back up equipment in the event if say a fryer fails. Here at Galley Slaves we have several chefs and three fryers on each fish and chip van so whatever happens we will provide food for your wedding.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
We are a team of chefs with wedding and party experience and just wanted to start a company that can do great simple food at realistic prices. We just love having so many choices of fun foods to cook that every day is different and making our brides big day special gives us so much job satisfaction, We are really proud here at galley slaves to provide guaranteed reliable catering since 1994. What you order is what you get, it’s as simple as that. Great food, on time and clear sensible pricing.
