What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a detailed quote to a customer, I would need to know the date, the type of event e.g. birthday, wedding etc and the style of food required e.g. buffet, formal meal etc. The number of guests and the location where the event will be held. This will allow us to tailor a quote based on that information

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask them what events they have done, whether that's private events or public ones such as a festival. The more background information the better. Check out their social media and see if they have any customer feedback.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Crumpet I Up is a small, Bristol based, family business. It stemmed from our love of food and festivals. We originally set up 'it's catered for' for our private dining clients and then wanted to break the festival scene with a small, straightforward stall and we saw a gap in the market - who doesn't love crumpets!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have only been using the site for a couple of weeks and already we have a number of bookings confirm. Our first event was last week for a birthday party, the request was posted on the Monday and it was for the Wednesday! Even with such little notice, we were determined to make it happen and help out the client. They were over the moon with our service and they loved the canapes we provided for their guests. The review that was left made our day - that's what this industry is about, all the hard work is worth it when you have happy clients. The client will use us going forwards and has recommended us to friends and family. I'm so pleased with the response we've had so far - I can't wait to see what the future holds for my little business and would highly recommend Add to Event in this industry.
