What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
To provide the best quote we only need a few things. Firstly the date and a rough area of where the event will be. Also any music requirements you may have. i.e. party music, rock music, Motown music etc. Everything else is just a bonus. If you add a phone number and we can chat then the quote will always be more accurate. We'd love to help make your events perfect in your vision.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Our advice for anyone looking to hire a band:
You have to be able to listen to or at least see a band play music. There is a massive difference between amateur, pub bands and professional party act that can entertain crowds of people for 3 hours in the night-time. Also, the quality of equipment can vary greatly. You just want to get a good idea that the providers know what they're doing first, also if they genuinely care about the outcome of your event. This is very important when booking a band.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
We started the Funk City Band in 2002 and have played over 8.5 k events including over 940 + weddings. we love entertaining people and then having a great time. It genuinely makes us happy and we want to pass that on to other people. The rules for a great band are simple: fun songs people know played in a way that is engaging and entertaining. However perfect you are if it's boring to watch you might as well have a CD on. any live band should be done right with the customer in mind. If not it shouldn't be done at all. We pride ourselves on having the skills most bands don't have and that sets us aside for the rest.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
We have been a band for over 14 years but are still relatively new to the Add to Event website. As yet we haven't had any confirmed enquiries but it seems a good platform to get a varied mixture of different quotes from different suppliers.
