What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide a fair and value for money quote we need to understand fully the nature of the event or function. The key points are the location, date and timings of the event, the number of people attending and the budget. If it is a larger event then we need to know the number of other caterers you are inviting and what they are providing.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It's not always true that if a caterer is available then they can't be that good! Quality caterers are in a position where they can pick and chose the events they attend. Customers should check out web pages and Facebook pages for confirmation that they do what they say. Don't be fooled by cheap prices. There are a lot of start ups that will offer very competitive prices - check out their experience, training and what equipment they are using, is it commercial quality or off the middle aisle at Aldi?

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Pizza Heaven was started 4 years ago after I had retired from my 30 year carrier in the Fire Service. I got bored really quickly and needed something to stimulate and excite me. I actually saw my first mobile pizza oven in North Wales when my wife and I were on a weekend break and had been discussing business ventures. As soon as we saw it we knew it was a great a idea. 4 years down the line we love it and she keeps pestering me to let her do it full time and pack up real work!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I am more than happy to use Add to Event to promote my mobile pizza business. I have been invited to a wide range of events across the Midlands. Some memorable ones include setting out in a snow storm at the end of April and battling storm-force winds and rain in Stafford in June. Oh, the joys of the English Summer! We had a lovely night 3 days before Christmas at a corporate event and served 200 pizzas to a logistic firm's drivers, manic but crisp and dry!
