What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer we need a brief explanation of the event, the estimated number of quests, if there is power and water? dietary requirements and if you would want a set menu? From this, we can use our experience and give the best competitive quote.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly, I would ask about what they are offering and how long they have been doing what they do?
I would also ask about what equipment they use, and menu.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
Giacomino's is named after my son Giacomo (jacomo). I am half Italian and my father has restaurants in Italy. I trained as a chef in his restaurants from the age of 14 -17 my passion is in restaurants, I have always wanted to have my own restaurant so I knew I needed to learn every aspect from cleaning- waitress etc. I have worked in restaurants in the UK since I was 17 as a chef at the age of 21 I went travelling and worked in Australia and New Zealand as a chef. When I returned to the UK last year to have my baby I wanted to go back to work but I didn't want to work in a restaurant I felt like it was my time to do something myself so I thought why not set up a catering van selling authentic Italian food. Every time i go to an Italian restaurant its never authentic! People change things because they are too scared people won't like it. So i am keeping everything very authentic and want people to have a taste of the true southern Italian cuisine.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
I have had a couple of bookings so far from Add to Event and I am so happy with it!
Our first one I would say was the best so far which was at a festival in Newquay there were nearly 200 people and everyone loved our food and they were such a lovely bunch of people! I have recommended Add to Event to a few my catering friends I have met recently! I will do my best to support Add to Event as we grow !!
