What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

For us to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer, ideally we need the event date, a brief explanation of the type of event they are hosting, the estimated number of guests, and a potential venue, whether it's an indoor or outdoor event and how long it's running for. It's no problem if some of this information cant be obtained just yet - we will work with what info you do have. From this, we can use our experience and expertise to put together options for the client to choose from.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I always think its best to have a chat - At Betsy's we don't call the customers when we get the request through (unless they have asked us to of course or its a direct request) but I certainly wouldn't want to try and be contacted by numerous companies trying to sell me their service. I like to allow the customers to have a look around our website and Facebook and look at the pictures of our set up and decide if they like the sound of us. Then it's great to chat with each other where possible as sometimes there are things that the event organiser hasn't thought about that we can advise on like licensing.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

I worked in a great job for a very large global financial service provider and was there for 10 years but I always enjoyed hospitality and working with people. I had experience in running a restaurant and a gastropub and so after my Nanna passed away I wanted a change and so set up Betsy's Bar in her honour. She was a very positive influence in my life and I wanted to do something to make her proud whilst getting back into the type of work that I was passionate about - I love surpassing peoples expectations and providing excellent service and so running a mobile bar seemed like a great thing to get into. Now I get to have a big part in peoples celebrations and events and enjoy being able to make a difference.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We have worked for so many clients through Add to Event! From customers like the British Army, The Multistory Orchestra, Graduate Fashion Week, British Heart Foundation all the way to couples getting married, private birthday parties and cocktail events! I recommend Add to Event to so many other suppliers (not other mobile bars though of course!). It is just so user-friendly and easy to use. The staff are always on hand to help suppliers and customers alike and its reviews are fantastic. Add to Event is still growing and with it so is my business.
