What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

In order to provide a comprehensive quote to a customer ideally, we need the date, brief details as to the nature of the event, the number of guests and venue. It is also helpful to know if the event is indoor, outdoor or both, for example in a marquee or tipi and whether any extra services are required like welcome drinks or toast drinks.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The advice we would give to customers would be to ask for a drinks menu to be included in the quote so you have an idea of prices and drinks the company can provide. Also how many staff members they are intending to having working at the event. We often hear about bar companies running out of drinks or long queues at the bar due to an insufficient number of staff. This is something we strive to avoid and always have a large stock van with us and enough staff to provide efficient bar service.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

The Horse & Jockey Mobile Bar was started by a brother and a sister and their love of prosecco and gin and a desire to run a mobile bar business. We carried out a complete restoration of our horsebox using the finest materials both inside and out. We wanted to create bars which add a real sense of quality to an event combined with a comprehensive menu at reasonable prices and first class customer service.

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

We love being a part of a couple's wedding day and feel very privileged to provide our bar service at weddings. We have received a number of bookings for weddings through Add To Event and have had some amazing feedback from brides and grooms about the service they have received and the standard of our bars and glassware. We also get lovely comments about the quality of our drinks and the prices we charge for them. It's very satisfying to know you have provided a top class service for a bride and groom and their guests.
