What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

To provide an accurate quotation, approximate guests numbers are the key part to it. Then it builds from there. I'm really keen on tailoring each event exactly how the client wants the catering to be and I am completely flexible on pretty much any detail! For me you cannot be too rigid. Everyone is different and everyone wants their event to be unique - no problem at all! Personally, I cannot understand businesses that don't do want the client wants. Why not? They're paying!

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Pizza isn't just pizza! I use only the finest ingredients, mostly direct from Italy. The three key parts are the base, sauce and the cheese. It's got to be quality to get the unique Italian taste, also the oven used has got to be a decent standard. Temperature and volume capability inside the oven is key. It's definitely not fast food but if you are catering for a large event you have got to have the equipment to ensure you can balance a quality product at a decent pace. I use a purpose-built Italian Fontana Large base oven with Kiln dried wood to get that all important temperature control with good output. Then it's a matter of deciding the menu. Again, I'm totally flexible on this. If you want something different, or something that's always been your favourite - no problem! Good service has got to be right up there with the quality of the pizza.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

Well I have got 20+ years experience in the baking industry, so naturally I have a passion making breads, cakes etc. The buzz I get out of seeing people enjoy my food I have created is pretty much the main driver for me taking my skills on the road! I used to make homemade pizza at home for friends etc and everyone said I ought to make a living out of this - so I did! I managed to get all the equipment needed and improved as I went on. I started doing local gigs and have pretty much grown from there, mainly for wedding catering which I take very seriously! It's a big deal catering for a wedding party!

Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?

I have been very successful through Add to Event and I am always keen to promote the site by giving clients the details of Add to Event for jobs I cannot do. I guess it would be the first wedding I did. I reckon I was more nervous than the groom! But gladly it all went well! The comments you get throughout the event from guests are so pleasing, also to nail a fantastic comment from the client afterwards always goes down well! The way Add to Event works is so slick and easy which again helps promote the site and enables us caterers to receive even more opportunities to bid on!
