What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?
We would ideally require the following information to provide a comprehensive quote;
- Clients Name
- Contact details
- Type of event
- Venue
- Date
- Start and finish time
And any extra services that they might be looking to inquire about as we offer multiple services.
This will give us the opportunity to give our customer a comprehensive quotation.
We always like to talk to the client over the telephone or by meeting up to really get an idea of the event and to see exactly what they are trying to achieve so we can help them build a bespoke package to suit their ideas and budget.
What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Firstly we recommend doing a fair bit of research. They don't need to be a detective, but we suggest looking at the supplier's website first of all and see if what they are offering is suited to their event. Next, we would recommend having a look at the supplier's social media. Nowadays customers can leave live Facebook reviews on a business page. This will prove that the reviews are real and not made up for the website. You can also ask the supplier for references from previous venues or clients.
Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.
I started Sweet Vibe Events at just 13 years old. I started doing at my local youth club after watching the older kids mixing on the Technics turntables. After having my first go, I instantly knew that this is what I was meant to be doing. After practising loads, I got better and better and starting getting bookings for family and friends. I then got asked by a local band if I would like to join them on the wedding scene. I would go with them and DJ in the gaps when the band would have a break. Now 20 years later I enjoyed DJing so much I grew my business over many years and now have just recently won the award for
Wedding DJ of the year at The Wedding Industry Awards.
I absolutely LOVE my job and has the best rewards ever. Being a massive part of the bride & grooms special day and the feedback and comments I receive from them after drives me more to be even more successful.
Please tell us about a booking you've had through Add to Event, how did it go? Would you recommend us to others?
As I have only recently joined Add to Event I have not had many bookings through this platform so far. Most of the work we do comes from word of mouth and are very busy throughout the year so we use this platform to fill up a few free dates that we have from time to time.
We have had 3 bookings from Add to Event so far.
The most memorable out of the three we have had so far is a Quiz night for the London Metal Exchange at the Theatre Deli in Central London. There were around 150 guests and was a fantastic atmosphere throughout the evening. It turned out so well and they loved the music round that when the quiz finished, I played some loud music at the end and the quiz turned into a massive party with everyone up dancing (some even dancing on the tables) definitely a quiz night I will never forget!
