What do you need to know from an organiser in order to provide a comprehensive quote?

A comprehensive initial quote would require us to know the date, the number of hours we're required, the venue (and whether it has ground-level access, a stage and so on), an estimate of the number of guests, whether it's indoors/outdoors (and covered).
Depending on the 'complexity' of the event, we would usually meet with the client (especially with weddings) to cover finer details. The quote is always flexible if the client wants and changes or additions to their requirements. Given accurate information, we can provide as accurate an initial quote as possible.

What advice would you give to a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

You should always ask the provider about their experience in their field, where they can see recent reviews (especially if a company is new on Add to Event), and whether they have any media. Ask them what sets they have performed recently. Do your research!
Ask them what their USP is. What makes them different from everyone else...this can often be a deciding factor in their decision...whilst you may want tried and tested methods, sometimes a client may be after something a little fresher, so be sure of what you want before selecting a supplier.

Please tell us a little bit about how and why you started the business.

The DJs at Ace Beats have been performing for years, and with the pandemic having a major effect on the industry, Ace Beats was formed with the view to push our brand, our style and our different outlook in readiness for some semblance of normality to resume. We're hoping that when this pandemic has passed, everyone will be in the party mood, and we're ready to entertain.
Ace Beats has a passion for music. It's sound, it's structure, it's effect on the emotions, and we love to pass on that passion to our clients...when a business is passionate about what they do, it shows to the customer.
